What is more durable - wood or composite?

Having the choice between wooden and composite boards, it is difficult to decisively determine which of them is more durable. It is only certain that decking boards made of exotic wood species last longer than those made of softwood, popular in Poland. The lifespan of the former is estimated at several decades, while the latter - around a dozen years. The same applies to composite boards. The addition of synthetic material makes them very resistant to weather conditions, and the best boards of this type are able to match exotic wood products. Both types have their supporters and opponents, but the decision of which one to choose is rather dictated not by material durability, but by price, preferred color schemes, available range of colors, and often - the individual customer's attitude.
