System for mounting wooden terrace boards
Traditional Mounting:
Traditional mounting involves connecting the terrace board to the joist using SPAX screws (from the top), which is one of the most reliable and commonly used terrace mounting methods. To fasten the terrace board, stainless steel and hardened class A2 screws should be used. Using screws made of ordinary steel will cause them to corrode quickly when in contact with moisture and changing weather conditions. Additionally, some wood species contain substances that accelerate steel corrosion. It is important to note that hard wood species (e.g. massaranduba, bangkirai) must be pre-drilled. This will prevent the boards from cracking during assembly and later during use, as well as allow the screw head to be concealed in the board. Screws used for mounting the terrace board should not be fastened more than 5-7 cm from the edge of the board to avoid bending the ends. The minimum length of the screws should be twice the thickness of the board being installed, with a required screw diameter of 5mm.
Invisible Mounting:
SIHGA DielenFix - this is a system for invisible terrace installation with many advantages. It provides spacing between the boards and joists, significantly extending the terrace's lifespan. It also allows for easy replacement of terrace boards unlike other mounting systems. With the ability to use screws of various lengths, the system is suitable for any terrace board thickness. Unlike other systems, using SIHGA DielenFix clips ensures constant air circulation between the boards and joists - preventing wood distortion and ensuring even drying of the terrace. The SIHGA DielenFix system does not require milling the edges of the board. The clips are easy to install and exceptionally durable, providing a unique aesthetic for the terrace while caring for its longevity and durability.
