Moso Bamboo X-treme is a completely ecological and durable alternative to the increasingly scarce exotic wood. Moso decking boards have a significant advantage over exotic wood not only due to their exceptional durability, but also dimensional stability, hardness, and fire resistance confirmed by certificates (class B s1). The incredibly fast growth, and therefore unlimited availability of bamboo, makes it an excellent raw material for various applications, which is why it is considered the "material of the future".

Due to its high sugar content, and thus significant susceptibility to fungi and mold, bamboo must undergo a special thermal modification to become an ideal material for outdoor applications. MOSO has conducted a series of tests and research on the raw material to obtain a unique and biodegradation-resistant material. Initially tested wood protection methods, still used by other bamboo manufacturers, were not satisfactory and did not meet the requirements and standards of MOSO Bamboo X-treme. After several years of trials and tests, MOSO Bamboo X-treme technologists came up with an ideal solution that increased the durability and weather resistance of bamboo. Through a special procedure called Thermo-Density, involving increasing the density and subjecting the wood to a special thermal treatment (200 C), they obtained a product of exceptional durability and stability. In 2009, special laboratory tests were conducted, which proved that Thermo-Density is the only proper method of bamboo treatment for outdoor applications.
