Siberian Larch

Siberian Larch is a species much lighter than most species of exotic wood used outdoors, but due to its properties it can also be used without additional preservation. Characteristic of Siberian Larch is the arrangement of knots, and closely spaced layers create a decorative pattern. Siberian larch is characterized by high strength and good natural resistance to fungi. The wood is weather-resistant and very suitable for outdoor use. With proper installation, in the case of Siberian larch, it is possible to completely forgo additional protection, such as chemical agents. Larch is a resinous wood. Siberian larch wood does not require painting. Left in its natural state, it ages gracefully - over time, its color changes to silvery-gray (patinates). To fully enhance the appearance and structure of larch wood and preserve its natural color longer, wood oil can be used.

Wood characteristics
Larch is a very durable type of wood (protected in Poland). It is characterized by high mechanical strength comparable to deciduous and exotic tree species. Due to its hardness, it is a very difficult species to work with. It is very resistant to weather conditions, fungi, therefore, it can be used outdoors. During installation, for example, when using nails, it is recommended to make pre-drills. The nails themselves should be made of stainless steel as rust causes quick discoloration of the wood to black. The species is much lighter than most species of exotic wood. Siberian larch decking is resistant to changing weather conditions and is therefore recommended for outdoor use in buildings: terraces, paths, balconies, gazebos.

Wood color
From golden-honey to brownish-red/bronze-red, with colors distributed unevenly - it differs significantly from European larch, which is rather uniformly reddish.
